She will be also known as the one who allowed Gael Monfils to become a better person/player. But not only. In 2019, Elina Svitolina delivered a very complete season reaching the semis at both Wimbledon and at the US Open. With a game full of variety, the Ukrainian, who spent time at the Academy of Justine Henin, finished the year in style as runner-up in the tour finals in Shenzen. 2020 started off well with a 14th title in Monterrey, before the table tennis matches with Gael took over her time because of the tour freeze. Unlike her man, that she married in July 2021, Elina was stronger after the restart. She reached 15 titles, and made her top 5 spot even more comfortable. In Tokyo, she captured a medal that would put an everlasting smile on her face. Only flaw, the lack of a Slam trophy on her mantle piece. Surely it will happen.
