Sabalenka came onto the tour like a speeding bulldozer. After a first incursion the top 100 in 2017, she broke for no one in 2018, finishing the year just beyond the top 10. Thanks to her physique, 1m82, she is able to take advantage of her extremely powerful shots which puts her in winning positions very early in points. The results came quickly : 10 titles in 2021 ! Better yet, the Belarus reached Grand Slam semi’s twice in 2021 (Wimbledon and US Open). These results allowed her to reach the number 2 spot in the world. A good start, but the Minsk native, born in 1998, remains very hungry. In doubles she has two major titles and has already spent 5 weeks as world number 1.
