Time waits for no man but it seemed to do so for Andy Murray who became the first British male to win a singles title on the Wimbledon Centre Court since Fred Perry in 1936 when he defeated Roger Federer 62 61 64 to win the Olympic Gold Medal. He was also the first British male to reach the pinnacle of Olympic tennis glory since 1908 when tennis was played at the old Wimbledon courts.
