Who’s the boss ? It’s Andy Murray !

Nov 22, 2016, 3:24:27 PM

A mannequin, spectacular shots, and a final triumph against Djokovic…Andy Murray keeps his world number spot and takes the first spot in our ranking…

The clash of titans did occur during the London ATP Worl Tour Finals : the very anticipated final between Murray and Djokovic has crowned the first, who therefore kept his world number 1 spot as well as the first spot of our ranking, in front of the Serb and a Wozniacki at her very best during her holidays. Because yes, for the whole small world of tennis, it’s now time for a well deserved break.

1- Andy Murray (+4).

Hey there, it’s Andy Murray ! Winner of the London ATP World Tour Finals, the world number 1 has had a phenomenal second half of the 2016 season.

A last triumph in 2016 which Andy wanted to share with his staff.

At the start of the week, they were eight looking to triumph on the banks of the Thames. He was the last one to survive.

After epic fights and a few exceptional shots, whether it be against Raonic in the semi-final…

…or against Djokovic in the final.

Thank you for everything Andy and see you next year. We can’t wait.

2- Novak Djokovic (/).

The unlucky loser of the end of the 2016 season is obviously Novak Djokovic, who was defeated by Andy Murray and overtaken by the Scot at the ATP ranking. Despite his wife’s support…

Out of the eight qualified players in London, the Serb, used to winning everything until the half of the season, had to leave the last title of the season in the hands of the man at the forefront on this picture.

Novak/Andy : a duel which hasn’t started yesterday and which we can’t wait to see again in 2017.

However, let’s remind ourselves that the Serb’s last title won on the circuit was in Toronto last July…

3- Caroline Wozniacki (NE).

The tennis news right now are also flooded with the player’s holidays, as it is the end of the season on the WTA circuit. And Woznicaki won the evil game of posting pictures to make her followers jealous on the social networks. When she posed with…a turtle.

Friends on the beach in the West Indies.

Alone, facing the sea, with a golf club in hand.

Or from the back, in a very charming pose.

4- Eugenie Bouchard (+3).

The Dane wasn’t the only one to show us what her holidays looked like. It was also Eugénie Bouchard’s case. The Canadian also wanted to show us her back. Yep, her back.

Is it also possible to see her in a red swimsuit, in a Baywatch pose ? Yes, of course.

Another classic : the picture at the casino.

Anyway, Eugenie is enjoying herself. As she should be.

5- Ana Ivanovic (+3).

Let’s carry on with our little tour of women’s tennis social networks, and let’s stop to admire the always beautiful Ana Ivanovic, who was with her husband Bastian Schweinsteiger to collect, in Berlin, a Bambi, a reward for his service to the national football team, the Mannschaft.

Wow, this evening dress looks wonderful.

Knowing that even « au naturel », the Serb remains the world number 1 in fans’ hearts.

6- Angelique Kerber (NE).

During the ceremony in Berlin, Angelique Kerber also collected her Bambi.

She met with Ana Ivanovic, with who she was able to speak about tennis.

But the picture of the week, which she is obviously very proud of, is the one where she’s posing with Barack Obama, who was on a diplomatic trip on the Old Continent.

With more than 10 million dollars earned in prize money in 2016, Kerber is the best paid player on the circuit. Which deserved a little selfie with her fans.

And with her banker ?

7- Milos Raonic (NE).

Defeated in London after a heroic battle against Andy Murray (the Scot had to save a match point), Milos Raonic has confirmed that we must now count on him for the big encounters. Beckham senior and junior had noticed it, and had made the Canadian their favorite.

It must be said that Raonic is not only a devastating serve…

He also perfecting his game season after season.

8- Kei Nishikori (NE).

The other loser in the semi-finals is Kei Nishikori, quickly beaten by Djokovic, despite the support of another celebrity from the football world, José Mourinho.

The Japanese didn’t leave his Zen attitude despite being destroyed 1/6 1/6.

However, in the previous rounds, Kei didn’t forget about pleasing the London crowd with a few magical shots which he had up his sleeve.

9- John Peers/Henri Kontinen (NE).

Speaking of magical shots, it’s in the doubles in London, that we’ve seen the most beautiful rally of the week (of the season ?). With, in the end, the pair Peers / Kontinen defeating the Lopez.

A real ballet, and a bit of luck in the end, as the Australian and the Finn, who were taking part in their first ATP World Tour Finals, have won the final on a razor’s edge against Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram, 2/6 6/1 10/8.

10- Leander Paes (NE).

As we’re speaking about doubles, let’s take a small trip to a recent past. Do you remember Leander Paes ? The man who won 55 titles in the doubles between 1997 and 2015, who is yet to retire, at 43 years of age, will be the center of a biopic. A movie about his life will be shot in his country, India. Class.

11- Amélie Mauresmo (NE).

It was the big announcement of the week on the social networks : Amélie Mauresmo has decided to put her career as the BNP Paribas Fed Cup French team on hold, after the defeat (with honors) against the impressive Czech. Not because of a conflict, or out of deception, but because she is pregnant.

Which calls for a lot of congratulation messages. Which the Frenchwoman received in numbers, as she thanked her fans and friends from the circuit.

Mauresmo is now already far from any tennis-related problematic.

12- Roger Federer (NE).

Federer commentating the mannequin challenge of the eight players qualified for the London ATP World Tour Finals…

Federer paying homage to the two finalists, the major actors of the season which has just ended…

But mainly Federer who set a date – with humor – with his fans and Murray in 2017 for an exhibition match.

We can’t wait for next season !

13- Rafael Nadal (NE).

2017 will maybe also be a good opportunity to finally see what’s hiding under Nadal’s cap.

A shaved head, like Agassi during the second part of his career, to hide a receding hairline ? Or implants, like Wayne Rooney ? The suspense is at peak.

14- Benoît Paire (NE).

In 2017, we’ll also see in which mental state the enigmatic Benoît Paire, who went to relax with his girlfriend Sh’ym in the Swiss countryside, will be.

Come on Benoît, come back to us with a good state of mind, ok ?

15- Serena Williams (NE).

Finally, the last expected return next season, is Serena Williams’ who has went back to sporting outfits last week.

At last !
