Andre AGASSI

aka The Last Vegas Kid

The idol of an entire generation!

When he played at Roland-Garros for the second time, in 1988, with his denim shorts and long hair, the Las Vegas Kid did not go unnoticed. A passing fad? Anything but. When he advanced all the way to the semifinals, forcing Mats Wilander to a fifth set, the American was just on the cusp of the crazy career to come. Raised by a father whose aim was to make him a champion and trained at the Bollettieri school, Agassi would win it all: 8 Grand Slam titles, 17 at the Masters 1000, the Davis Cup, an Olympic gold medal and the Masters. Just as in the greatest stories, he would struggle with self-doubt, falter and rise again. In 1999, the greatest comeback on the tour culminated with the attainment of his biggest goal: winning Roland-Garros, the only Grand Slam tournament missing from his collection. It was also in Paris that he finally won over Steffi Graf. They enjoy a tranquil life with their two children in Las Vegas. A real-life fairy tale!
