It is during an epic quarter final at the US Open in 2019, versus Gaël Monfils that the solid Matteo Berrettini (1m96, 95 kg’s), made a name for himself. All court player, with a huge serve and an even bigger forehand, he became there and then the leader of an amazing Italian squad. To those who thought that he had reached his limits after that win, the new good looking guy of the tour, has made himself a solid home in the top 10. In 2021 he added two titles to his collection (Belgrade and Queen’s) as well as a final at the Madrid 1000 event and at Wimbledon. To this day, no Italian had managed to go so far at the Championships. After his revelation in 2019, the Rome native and Fiorentina supporter has backed-up his performances in a big way.
